7 DAY CHAKRA CLEANSE
Welcome to the 7 Day Chakra Cleanse! This is a 7 day self-practice to balance + recenter your energy. Becoming familiar + in tune with your chakras is a great way to guide your own self-care. My intention with guiding you through this practice is to help you see a new perspective of inner holistic healing.
The Chakra System
A little background about the chakra system…
The seven chakras are the main energy centers of the body. You may have heard others talk about "unblocking" their chakras, which refers to the idea that when all of our chakras are open, energy can run through them freely, and harmony exists between the physical body, mind, and spirit. The word chakra translates to "wheel" in Sanskrit, and you can imagine them like wheels of free-flowing positive energy as shown in the picture below.
Day 1 | The root chakra
The first chakra is your root chakra. The root chakra is known as “the root of all things,” and represents your foundation. On the human body, it sits at the base of the spine and gives you the feeling of being grounded. When the root chakra is open, you feel confident in your ability to withstand challenges and stand on your own two feet. When it's blocked, you feel threatened, as if you're standing on unstable ground.
Location: Base of spine, in tailbone area
What it controls: Survival issues such as financial independence, money, and food
Mantra: "Right now, I am safe." “I am grounded.” “I have everything that I need.”
Color: Red
Element: Earth
Stone: Hematite
Yoga pose: Warrior I
When it develops: Ages 1-7 years old

DAY 2 | the SACRAL CHAKRA
The second chakra is your sacral chakra. This energy center helps inform how you relate to your emotions and the emotions of others. It also governs creativity and sexual energy. When balanced, the sacral chakra allows you to be passionate, creative, and sensual while connecting with your feelings and emotions. When the sacral chakra is out of alignment or blocked, issues with the reproductive system can pop up, including menstrual cramps, urinary tract infections, a significant increase or decrease in sexual interest, and lower back pain.
Location: Lower abdomen, about 2 inches below the navel
What it controls: Your sense of abundance, well-being, pleasure, and sexuality
Mantra: "I honor my needs." “I feel my emotions.” “I allow my creativity to flow.”
Color: Orange
Element: Water
Stone: Tiger's Eye
Yoga pose: Bound Angle Pose
When it develops: 8-14 years old

DAY 3 | the SOLAR PLEXUs chakra
The third chakra is your solar plexus chakra. This chakra speaks to your ability to be confident and in control of your life. Think back to the last time you had butterflies or felt a pit in the stomach: that's the magic + spark of the solar chakra at work. If your solar plexus chakra is blocked, you might feel overwhelming amounts of shame + self-doubt. Those with open solar plexus chakras are unshakably confident + take action.
Location: Upper abdomen in the stomach area
What it controls: Self-worth, self-confidence, and self-esteem
Mantra: "I am strong." “I am powerful.” “I am enough.”
Color: Yellow
Element: Fire
Stone: Amber
Yoga pose: Boat Pose
When it develops: 15-21 years old
Practice this month’s meditation today + choose one self-care practice to cleanse your solar plexus chakra.

DAY 4 | the HEART CHAKRA
The fourth chakra is your heart chakra. The heart chakra is the bridge between the lower chakras (connected to materiality) + the upper chakras (connected to spirituality). As you would expect, this chakra influences your ability to give + receive love—from both yourself and others. If you have a blocked heart chakra you will have difficulty fully opening up to the people in your life, as well as difficulty receiving from life. If your heart chakra is open, you will experience deep compassion, empathy, abundance + recognize you are inherently worthy.
Location: Center of chest, just above the heart
What it controls: Love, joy, and inner peace
Mantra: "I am deeply loved." “Love nourishes me.” “I allow the flow of love freely.”
Color: Green
Element: Air
Stone: Rose Quartz
Yoga pose: Camel Pose
When it develops: 21-28 years old

DAY 5 | THE THROAT CHAKRA
The fifth chakra is your throat chakra. Your throat chakra gives voice to the heart chakra and controls your ability to communicate your personal power. When it's open, it allows you to express yourself truly and clearly. If your throat chakra is blocked it will feel like you have trouble finding the words to say how you truly feel. You may also experience laryngitis or sore throats frequently.
Location: Throat
What it controls: Communication, self-expression, and truth
Mantra: "I speak my truth, always." “I am heard.” “My voice matters.”
Color: Light Blue/Turquoise
Element: Sound/Music
Stone: Aquamarine
Yoga pose: Fish Pose
When it develops: 29-35 years old
Practice this month’s meditation today + choose one self-care practice to cleanse your throat chakra.
DAY 6 | THE THIRD EYE CHAKRA
The sixth chakra is your third eye chakra. Your third eye chakra governs your ability to see the big picture and connect to your intuition. It is often referred to as the eye of the soul: it registers information beyond the physical. The spiritual awareness that comes through the development of the sixth chakra can be overwhelming if you have not built a healthy foundation in your lower five chakras. After working your way through those, your third eye begins to open. It is then that an inner knowing begins to rise, and you can clearly see yourself, as well as start to receive visions and intuitive hits with sharp clarity.
Location: Forehead between the eyes (also called the Brow Chakra)
What it controls: Intuition, imagination, and wisdom
Mantra: "My vision is clear." “I trust my intuition.” “I create my reality.”
Color: Dark Blue/Purple
Element: Light
Stone: Amethyst
Yoga pose: Child's Pose
When it develops: 36-42 years old
Practice this month’s meditation today + choose one self-care practice to cleanse your third eye chakra.

day 7 | the crown chakra
The seventh chakra is your crown chakra. Your highest chakra sits at the crown of your head and represents your ability to be fully connected spiritually. When you fully open your crown chakra—something very few people ever do!—you're able to access a higher consciousness. When your crown chakra is out of balance, you feel disconnected from others, as well as the purpose of life itself. Depression, insomnia, and hypersomnia can be common manifestations of energetic dysfunction in the crown chakra.
Location: The very top of the head
What it controls: Inner and outer beauty, spiritual connection
Lesson: "I am light." “I am limitless.” “I am one with the Universe.”
Color: Violet/White
Element: Divine Consciousness
Stone: Clear quartz
Yoga pose: Headstand
When it develops: 43-49 years old
